I’ve just released my new fantasy short story, Wayward Scribe. It’s written in first person, present tense, which is something I haven’t done before.

I’ve formatted and uploaded the ebook version of my short story, The God’s Eye, which received First Place in the Writers’ Journal 2011 Fiction Contest, and is currently featured in their July/August issue. Since it looks like the magazine cut the accompanying poem at the beginning of the story in order to save space (even though I included against my word count), I’m happy to now have it available in full. (Because I’m anal like that.)

Right now, The God’s Eye is available in Kindle format from Amazon, and all other formats from Smashwords. Over the next few weeks it will also become available from all other major ebook retailers (Barnes & Noble, Apple, Sony, etc.).

Words cannot express how much fun I had putting this together. It was a bit of a challenge, since I had never done it before, but I think it turned out pretty well!

I've added the video to the sidebar here, as well as to the new 'My Books' tab up top, but it really looks best full size. You can see it on my YouTube channel.

For anyone who is interested, I used Windows Movie Maker.  All of the images and music in the trailer are royalty-free.  Most of the images were free to download, but I did pay a little bit for the video clip at the beginning, and for the music clips as well. (It cost me $16.02 CDN in total.) The rest was just hours of trying to fit all the pieces together to match what I had going on in my head.

So formatting for ebooks is an adventure...

My fantasy short story, The Unclean, is now available to purchase for $0.99.  Kindle version is available from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.  All other versions (iBook, Sony Reader, Kobo, etc.) are available via Smashwords.com

The versions on Smashwords will also eventually become available directly through each name brand ebook store as their catalogues get updated with my info. ;)

This story placed third in the 2010 Writers' Journal Fiction Contest, and was originally published in their July/August issue.  The download also includes an excerpt from my upcoming novel, Soul Seeker.

In other news, I'm working on a book trailer for Soul Seeker, which is really coming along!
